This week's TCP Tuesday challenge is to use this sketch to make your card. I'm really working on my "scrappy" style - which seems to be popular right now. Joanne Basile and Amy Rohl are true experts at this and I don't even think they're trying. I'm trying and trying and trying some more. In my mind, for some reason, "scrappy" style has to involve Kraft cardstock...usually as the base. Why is that, do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts on "scrappy" style and what you would include to make your card "scrappy."
I dug out Mr. Bear from the HAPPY CAMPER set from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS for my card. He's just so easy to color and customize that he works for many themes. I let the patterned papers - all from the Green Stack paper pad from DCWV - dictate the color scheme. I added another of the scalloped paper flowers that I've been making lately. I used the Spellbinders Dahlia Nestabilities to make this one. In the center I glued some Prima Center Kiss flower parts and a button. The little banner uses an A Muse sentiment and a TCP button with PTI button twine. I added some paper pierced holes for a little decorative interest to finish it off.
Make sure that you upload a photo of your card to the GUESTBOOK on ALMA'S blog so that you'll be entered into this month's SWANKY STAMPER contest. Need some inspiration? Check in on the other TCP design team girls to see how they interpreted the sketch...their names are listed at left.
love this card, but I don't have an idea what a scrappy style is, I just know I like your card and I love this name the bear contest.

So many great elements, Leigh! Love the flower/button, and the paper, and the floss stitches, and the sentiment button/twine...should I continue?!
Hugs!

Your card is darling. I agree--scrappy is certainly in. I've been trying to do scrappy too. To me, it involves an ivory bow.

Awesome sketch and card, Leigh -- love that flower! I'm going to actually try and play today! And I've entered a name for the bear, too. Have a good weekend! :)
