TCP TUESDAY #21 - COLOR CHALLENGE

Break out your ORANGE and your BLUE cuz that's the color combo for this week's TCP Tuesday challenge!  We love orange around our house so this is an easy peezy one for me.

I love Alma's swanky, hip images.  She's the best at this kind of thing for sure!  This card uses Dancing Food (G-7455) and White TV (F-S344) - from The Cat's Pajamas, obviously.  I already had the Sassafrass Lass patterned paper on my desk from the last card that I made this week.  And Holly and I were discussing Cuttlebug folders today so I had to use one of those too.  And I thought that the orange background needed just a tad of "dress up" so I used one of my Cuttlebug thin dies to cut out the little asterisk shapes.  The sentiment is by A Muse Artstamps and everything was colored using my Copics, of course.

Toni is the Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week.  You know what to do!  Gather up your TCP stamps and post the link to your card on Toni's blog.  Use keyword TCPTUES21 if you're uploading to Splitcoast.  Can't wait to see what the other TCP gals have come up with this week...make sure that you check them out too!

TCP TUESDAY #20 - BIRTHDAY INSPIRATION

TCP Tuesday Logo_1 This week's TCP Tuesday challenge is being hosted by Jen and it's an inspiration challenge.  The theme is "Birthday".  For me, the cool thing about that is that you can use just about ANY image that you like and make it fit the theme.

TCPTUES20_150

I chose these fun little robots from the Loving Mew Clearly Swanky stamp set (N-7508).  I think that they're irresistible!  And the sentiment is called Happy Mr. Frisky (D-S3104).  The neat patterned paper here is by Scenic Route - The Capetown Collection.  There are four patterns shown but it's really two pieces of double sided paper.  I used the Copics to color and SU!s slit punch on the ends of the mustard colored piece.  All colored cardstock by SU! and Vintage Cream by Papertrey.

Grab your Cat's Pajamas stamps and create a birthday card for this week's challenge.  If you're uploading to SCS, please use keyword TCPTUES20.  And then make sure to link to your artwork over on Jen's blog.  Alma's in the hunt for the Swanky Stamper for the month of August...it could be YOU!  And Alma has the Holey Moley Monday slideshow featuring she sketch challenge cards for last week up and running on her blog.

TCP TUESDAY #19 - SKETCH CHALLENGE

TCP Tuesday Logo_1 Hi Tuesday People....sorry I'm late today.  I AM this week's Cat's Pajamas Hostess with the Mostess and it's time again for the sketch challenge.

TCPTUES19_RK Inspiration This week's sketch was inspired by a card created by the wonderful Rose Kerry.  Rose always makes amazing cards.  She's especially generous with her swaps and they are A+++ Quality.  She's also know as the Baroness of Brads in our Yahoo Group.  This girl can use some brads!  I don't even want to think about how much she spends just in brads to make her fabulous swap cards.  Anyway, when I sat down to start my sketch for this week I was a bit stumped.  I searched through my card and just wasn't that inspired.  Lo and behold, right above my keyboard was this card that I just received from Rose.  It was one of her many SU! convention swaps.  I love everthing about it...especially the simple-yet-striking layout.  Thanks, Rose, for always being an inspiration.

TCPTUES19_Trick or Treat_150

My card uses Mummy Sprinkle (D-6330) and Trick or Treat (C-5265) from The Cat's Pajamas.  In fact, it's a whole line of "zombie mummy Sprinkles".  Aren't they funny?!  The patterned papers are by Imaginisce - the Hallowhimsy collection - "Velcome Inn" and "Eeks & Shrieks"...cute names!  Instead of the scalloped edging I used my pinking shears.  I like that "craggy" look for Halloween.  Every thing's colored with Copic markers, including the ribbon which started it's life as black and white.  (I needed to "dirty" it up a bit to match.)  The paper that I stamped on is Papertrey Vintage Cream.  It works just as well with the Copics as their White.

TCPTUES19 It's your turn!  Create a card using the sketch and your Cat's PJs stamps and link it here to this post by the end of the day on Saturday, August 9th.  (Use keyword TCPTUES19 if you're uploading to Splitcoast.)  I'll gather up all of the entries and forward them to Alma for next week's Holy Moly Monday Slideshow.  Be sure to visit the other TCP gals to see what they've done with the sketch this week and check in with Alma's blog to view the slideshow from last week that featured the "Christmas In July" themed cards.

TCP TUESDAY #18 - STAMP CHALLENGE

TCP Tuesday Logo_1 It's Tuesday and that can only mean one thing (well really more than one but then the phrase wouldn't work!)...IT'S TCP TUESDAYToni is this week's Hostess with the Mostess and she's chosen CHRISTMAS IN JULY.  Grab you Christmas stamps from The Cat's Pajamas and surprise us with some holiday inspiration.  That's what we're doin' so be sure and check out the blogs from the other TCP gals listed in my left sidebar.

TCPTUES18_150As for me....I couldn't resist some more RONNIE.  We all know that I love him!  This time he's taken the North Pole by storm.  He's ridden all that way on a horse head on a stick!  Can you believe that?  (What is that thing called anyway?  Hobby horse?)  As usual, he dresses to match the patterned paper of the day.  This stuff is from a pack by SEI called Holiday Hoopla and I have no idea if it's still available...I've had it for a while!  It's very festive and fun in a funky sorta way...perfect to match Alma's swanky stamp style.

Your turn!  Get the stamps out, make your card, and post a link over on Toni's blog.  The Swanky Stamper for July and the $25 in Cat's Cash is still up for grabs!  If you're posting on Splitcoast, use keyword TCPTUES18.  And click on over to Alma's blog to view last week's entries in the Holy Moley Monday Slideshow.  Alma's got a terrific Christmas card on their too!

TCP TUESDAY #17 - COLOR CHALLENGE

TCP Tuesday Logo_1 Katie is the Hipster Hostess with the Mostess for this week's TCP challenge.  (I think she's filling in for Toni?)  Anyway, it's a color challenge week.  Use the fun and funky combination of Pink, Orange, and Chocolate Brown.  I'm a little late this time but I did squeak it in!

TCPTUES17_Color Challenge_72 The idea for the big ole present came from a card that Katie made a few weeks ago for another TCP challenge.  (I can't seem to locate it now or I'd give you the link.)  In my search for stamps and paper for this challenge the image of the polar bear "catching" a ginormous present came to mind.  This frosty guy is from Polar Holiday Clearly Swanky set and the paper is from a DCWV glitter stack.  I cheated a little and used the computer for the "I caught ya somethin' for your birthday!" sentiment and the "happy birthday" is from a Papertrey set.  I hand drew the big bow onto brown Bazzill textured cardstock, cut it out, and highlighted it with a white gel pen.  The other textured cardstocks are by DCWV.  Oh, and I made a little "fish hook" with pink wire and used orange Karen Foster Scrap Floss to tie it to the fishing pole.

TCPTUES17_150

Your turn!  Go and make your pink/orange/brown creation with your Cat's Pajamas stamps and share it with us by adding a link to Katie's blog.  Please use the keyword TCPTUES17 if you're uploading to Splitcoast this week.  Enjoy the weekend to come!

TCP TUESDAY #16 - INSPIRATION CHALLENGE

TCPTUES16_inspiration-piece TCP Tuesday Logo_1 Tuesday...Tuesday...Tuesday....come on, say it with me....TUESDAY!  If it's Tuesday then it must be time for another Cat's PJs challenge.  This week we have an "inspiration" challenge from Jen Del Muro.  Jen's filling in this week for Carole and her inspiration came from this really neat fabric by Michael Miller.

For whatever reason, in my mind this fabric had purple in it.  I'm not sure now that it has any purple at all!  Funny how your brain does that to ya.  But it immediately made me think of the "Guide Lines" paper pad that I hadn't even opened yet from Papertrey Ink.  I paired three different papers from the pad with three fun Cat's Pajamas stamps:  Crooked House (E-5253), Bats (D-6326), and Haunt It (D-5262).  It's never too early to start thinkin' about Halloween, right?!

TCPTUES16_web

Go find some patterened paper or stamps or whatever comes to mind when you view the inspiration fabric...grab your TCP stamps and enter this week's challenge over on Jen's Blog.  Make sure to use keyword TCPTUES16 if you're uploading at Splitcoast.  The other TCP gals will be sharing their takes on the fabric too so check them out.  Alma's got the Holey Moley Monday slideshow up and running featuring last week's sketch challenge.  Go and see those cards too!

TCP TUESDAY #15 - SKETCH CHALLENGE

TCP Tuesday Logo_1 HAPPY TUESDAY!  It's sketch challenge time again for TCP Tuesday.  Get out your favorite Cat's Pajamas images and give this one a try...

TCPTUES15 The idea for this sketch came from a card that Amy Rohl entered into TCP Tuesday Challenge #13 - the color challenge.  I loved it...the big ole flag/pennant shape going down the middle of the card...and I loved Amy's card too.  That layout stuck in my mind and here we are.  Remember that you can always turn the sketch on it's side or even upside down.  I can't wait to see what you make with it.

Oh, by the way, Linda Nicholson was the Swanky Stamper for JuneCONGRATS, LINDA!  Her card is being showcased on the Cat's Pajamas Swanky Stamper page and she gets $25 in Cat's Cash to use for more TCP stamps.  That could be you for the month of July!!  Enter for this week's challenge by posting a link to your card HERE at the bottom of my post.  If you post to Splitcoast, please use the keyword TCPTUES15.  I'm hoping that the other TCP designers are able to play along this week.  (Has the summer gotten crazy or is it just me?  Where is the time going?!)  You can click over to their blogs - the list is on the left.  Alma's got the Holey Moley Monday slideshow up and running on her blog so that you can see the cards from last week using the "Relaxing" stamp with Sprinkle in the floatie...fun fun!

TCPTUES15_72

TCP TUESDAY #14 - "RELAXING" STAMP CHALLENGE

TCP Tuesday Logo_1 We're heading off to the beach for the 4th of July weekend but I wanted to squeeze this in....it's TCP Tuesday!  Oh wait, uhhh, Thursday?  Anyway, Katie is the Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this week and she chose to highlight this fun Cat's Pajamas stamp, "Relaxing" (F-7467).  Sprinkle "shore" does know how to relax!

TCPTUES14

The in-laws are having a little 4th of July gathering on Saturday (See!  Our days are all mixed up!) so I thought these fun picks would be perfect to dress up the food table.  All is colored with Copics and then I added some SU! Crystal Effects to make the floatie and the glass look shiny.   I used four different Nestabilities dies - two circles, a scalloped cirle, and the star.  How cool is that star!?  Oh, and the sentiment is by A Muse.

Surf on over to the other Cat's PJs design team blogs (listed at left) to see what they've created with this stamp.  Then, create a card using Relaxing Sprinkle and post it to Katie's blog to be entered in July's Swanky Stamper contest.  Linda Nicholson was the Swanky Stamper for June and you can see her card HERE.  If you're posting to Splitcoast, use keyword TCPTUES14.

TCP TUESDAY #13 - COLOR CHALLENGE

TCP Tuesday Logo_1 Hey There!  It's Tuesday so gather your Cat's Pajamas stamps and get to work.  This is an easy one so no excuses for not participating this week.  It's actually, Toni's week to be the Hostess with the Mostess but she's on vacation.  Sooooo, I'm stepping up to the plate.

TCPTUES13_Color Challenge_150 I like to find color challenges within patterned paper from my stash.  This one started with fun paper from Scenic Route's North Shore collection.  I'm especially taken by the Strip Combo sheets that they make to go with their collections.  (I used another one from a different collection on last week's TCPTUES card.)  They give you the look of a bunch of coordinating papers cut into strips - but it's really just one sheet of 12x12!  The colors for the challenge that I pulled from this paper are Olive, Dark Red, and Sky Blue.

Here's my card featuring the It's A Mod, Mod World Clearly Swanky set.  Who could resist Fifi, Poochie, and Sprinkle blasting off to outer space.  I used Copic markers to color the images and then added a bit of 'bling' with some Silver Stickles.  The ribbon is by We R Memory Keepers.  The little medallion was created with Nestabilities dies.  Oh, and I did a teensy bit of sewing with my Janome Sew Mini machine...a la Anna Wight, dontcha know!

TCPTUEST13_3ROCKETS_150

As usual, visit the other TCP gals (links are on the left) to see what they did with the color challenge and then create your card today!  Post a link to your creation here on my blog by the end of the day on Saturday, June 28th.  If you're posting to Splitcoast, use the keyword TCPTUES13.  All entries will be collected and then featured on Alma's blog in next week's Holey Moley Monday slideshow.  Plus, you'll be entered to win the $25 in Cat's Cash and the title of Swanky Stamper for June.  Good luck!
