CHEERY CHERRY DRINK RECIPES Album

    Alma asked the Cat's PJ's design team to come up with some projects using these new acrylic albums from Clear Scraps.  It was really an 'anything goes' kind of assignment but there were a few criteria:  any stamps that we chose needed to be TCP stamps and we also had to use three items from some random product that Alma had provided for us.  My goodie box had some Heidi Swapp Bling Cherries and this project sprang from there...

This is the Flower Tab Album and it is acrylic...I covered up all of the acrylic on my project though.   I searched high and low on the internet for cherry drink recipes and then printed them onto paper from the Making Memories 5th Ave. Spiral Journaling Book that Alma sent me.  So don't ask me to vouch for any of these concoctions...they did sound pretty yummy though!  (You can click on any of the photos to view them larger.)

I saw this project at a Recollections store here in Maryland a few weeks ago and knew that I just had to make it!  Lemme tell ya...it was SOOOOO easy and I just love how it turned out.  I can't wait for Halloween to get here!

Here's a little bit about how I made it...

I bought the bowl at Recollections.  I can't remember who makes it but it was just a plain, unfinished wooden bowl.  I used Gesso to paint seal the wood before I used some Black Making Memories acrylic paint and a foam brush to paint it.  The cool 'diamond' paper is from Junkitz and is out with the other Halloween stuff right now.  I cut out enough diamonds shapes to go around the inside and outside of the bowl.  It was around 18 to 20 for each.  I used Royal Coat Decoupage Finish in Clear - Satin finish by Plaid on the back of each diamond shape to glue them to the bowl.  I also used it to glue down the circle of Flocked Spider Web paper from Making Memories to the center bottom of the bowl.  When everything was dry, I used the same decoupage stuff to cover the entire outside and inside of the bowl.  A few coats will do ya.  The bottle actually says that it will completely cure in about 4 weeks and you can use a damp towel to clean it.  You can still use the bowl now but it's interesting to know that if you need to wipe it down for next year's use you can do that.  When everything was completely dry, I use a glue gun to glue buttons between every 2 or 3 diamonds on the outside of the bowl. 
    I'm totally thrilled with how it turned out too.  My next projects are some feather boa spiders that I found in a BH&G Halloween mag and some of those glittery bones in the Martha Stewart section at Michael's.  I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!
