NEED MORE BRAINS! {tcptues182 - supply challenge}

Today's TCP TUESDAY challenge from JULIE is to use ACETATE on your card or project.  I LOVE ACETATE!  (Unfortunately, I think it falls into the same category as those embossing folders for me...I forget that I even have them!)  I also love trying to come up with new boxes and bags to put treats into.  So, for this week, I came up with a card AND what I'm calling "The Beaker Box". 

Can you see the box in this picture?  I hope it reminds you of a beaker.  And inside?  I found some gummy BRAINS at Wegman's.  They're oddly weird and gross and yummy, I guess, at the same time!  I'm sure that the little person in our house will dig 'em.  I added the label using the new CIRCUS PANELS CUTUPS dies and the COOLVETICA alphabet from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS along with black ribbon, buttons, twine, and the Drippy Goo edge punch from Martha Stewart at the top of the beaker.

Of course, I had to have a fun card to go along with the treat!  I pulled out the MWAH! set - one of ALMA'S genius designs from last year and a personal fave for me.  This Frankenstein is THE most fun!  I used the COOLVETICA alphabet again along with the MS Drippy Good punch in a few places.  The bold and bright patterned papers are from the Spooktacular pad by K&Co. - also from last year.

BEING...{03}

I know...I know...I've been pretty bad on keeping up with the BEING posts.  It's a long story but REAL LIFE got in the way.  We've all been there, right?  Anyway, I was kinda cleaning up my crafting area today and unearthed this adorable UPTOWN GIRLS - VICTORIA & JULIETTE'S NIGHT OUT stamp from STAMPING BELLA that I bought when I was at Scrapfest last month.  I am completely in love with these beautiful illustrations.  And they're big images too so there's plenty of room for coloring and paper piecing!

So, I kinda got started on making a Halloween sorta card with the gals and ended up modeling this card after a recent one from one of my very favorite and most inspirational stampers.  This week, I decided on

PAULA WILLIAMSON

Paula's gorgeous Uptown Girls card can be found HERE.  I went with her rounded corner image panel and sentiment flag and I did my best to even come a teensy bit close to her coloring expertise! (I'm afraid that she's really untouchable though...except for Linda Heavens, her SB partner in crime...amazing!)

I used some Heidi Grace paper in my stash from 2006 for the background and some new Authentique Glowing patterns for the dresses.  The sentiment stamp is from Lockhart Company.  Buttons and Halloween Divine Twine and a bit of sparkly glitter finish it all off.

LET'S MONKEY AROUND

Here's one more card with the new sets that were released last week from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  You know, we have the circus penguins and PJ as the ringmaster but what would the circus be without the monkeys?!  This set is called GO BANANAS and contains whatever you'll need for a fun monkey business kinda card.  I matched it up with the BIG TICKET CUTUPS die and the coordinating ADMIT ONE stamp set.  The pretty patterned papers here are from the Clementine paper pad from Cosmo Cricket.  Colorful buttons and twine complete the look.

BEARING PRESENTS {tcptues181}

It's TCP TUESDAY and I'm playing a bit of catch-up with some of the new release stamps and dies that were just released at THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  Here's one that I haven't shown you here on my blog yet...BEARING PRESENTS!  Yup, this cutie has been here before but not in her big gift box!  She's so sweet.

JEN is this week's Hipster Hostess with the Mostess so that means that we have an INSPIRATION CHALLENGE.  Below is the inspiration photo collage and it has a ton of possibilities.  Will you choose the colors or the theme for this one.  THE CAT'S PJS has a ton of stamp options to fit this!

I used patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket (red) and Simple Stories (houndstooth) along with the kraft background paper that I stamped using a sentiment in the set.  I paper pieced the box with a piece of vintage book page and also used the new CIRCUS BORDER and the CIRCUS PANELS CUTUPS dies.  I love their unique shapes!  A bit of pleated seam binding ribbon and some rhinestones finish it off.

TCP TUESDAY #180 & NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP!

CLOWNIN AROUND...{tcp sneaky peek - day 7}

It's the last day for SNEAKY PEEKS from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS...AND....tonight it's time for our new release PAJAMA PARTY over at SPLITCOAST.  The fun begins at 8pm Eastern time...prizes and chatting and games...don't miss it!

So, last but not least by far, we have the new CLOWNIN' AROUND set!  The penguins are back and they are geared up for fun under the big top.  And to go along with the fun, ALMA created the perfect BIG TOP CUTUPS die.  This ingenious die cuts in just to right places to bring the whole tent to life.  It's perfect for paper piecing too since you only need a few snips to break the image apart and use various patterned papers.  I used new patterns from the SIDEWALKS 8x8 pad from October Afternoon.  I added my little sentiment using the new CIRCUS PANELS CUTUPS die set - 3 great shapes in one!  The BIG TICKET CUTUPS die and the ADMIT ONE set create the perfect background for penguin antics at the circus.  A bit of seam binding ribbon and some MM chipboard buttons and twine complete the look.

OH CHUTE...{tcp sneaky peek - day 4}

Day four of sneaky peeks for the upcoming new release from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS, that's what we're up to!  How about a new bunny set?  I know you love the bunnies!  And you won't be able to resist this guy either.  He's gotten himself into a bit of a pickle - floating away attached to that parachute!  This set is aptly called OH CHUTE!

I'm realizing that October is already flying by and I have spooky patterned papers to use so I made my card with various patterns from the Mischievious pad from MME.  I added a tiny pumpkin from the MWAH! set and the sentiment from the LITTLE DEVIL set - both from last year's Halloween release.  Don't you just love the banner in this new set?  And ALMA included three fun sentiments that can fit into that banner - perfect!  I also used the CLOUD BORDER CUTUPS die here...a definite fave!

STEP RIGHT UP...{tcp sneaky peek - day 3}

Welcome to day three of sneaky peeks for the upcoming new release from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS!  Step right up...come one, come all...to the greatest show on Earth!  The circus has come to town!

Today we're all showing you peeks of the STEP RIGHT UP set.  It's PJ in his newest incarnation.  He's very versatile, that bear, yes indeed!  And he couldn't be any cuter than he is here in his Ringmaster costume.  I paired him up with various patterned paper from the Alphabet Soup collection from MME.  And I also threw in another ticket using the BIG TICKET CUTUPS die and the ADMIT ONE set.  (They really are sooo great!)  I used the new CIRCUS BORDER CUTUPS die across the bottom of the bag topper as well - I love the combo of scallop/bracket shapes with the ball finials.  A big layered star - cut using the star Nestabilities dies - and twine with buttons finish it off.

GOOD FOR ONE...{tcp sneaky peek - day 1}

I'm so excited to be popping in today to share the first of a week of sneak peeks for new stamps and dies from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS!  Today kicks off the peeks and all will be available on October 11th - or perhaps even earlier for all of you Pajama Party going kinda gals.  In addition to giving you a little look-see, Alma has oh-so-generously decided to do another IN IT TO WIN IT promo in our SPLITCOAST FORUM - one lucky winner will receive the set that we're showing each day during Sneaky Peek Week.  Okay...lots of details so let's just get to it....

Our first up set is ADMIT ONE and it so aptly goes right along with the fabulous BIG TICKET CUTUPS DIE.  Yea, yea...there are some other tickets out there but none like this!  It's another genius must have idea from Alma!  (Each of the DT girls has used this set and die in a different way...you've just gotta see them all.)  I created a little coupon type booklet for the front of my card.  This works perfectly with the die since it's perfed on each side.  I also used the COOLVETICA alphabet and added "smile", "hug", and "kiss" to the tickets.  I added a small felt heart using the HEART TRIO CUTUPS die, a button, a paper flower, rhinestones and Oyster Divine Twine to jazz it up.  All of the patterned papers are from the A Happy Heart 6x6 pad from MME.
