Ready for a new sketch challenge from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS?! I hope ya are cuz I think this is a good one. Okay, so, yes, I did make it up but I think I am in love with this sketch. If I wasn't heading down to the beach this week I'd make another card with it...hmmm, perhaps when I get back next weekend!
I'm calling this one the "Picture Ledge" sketch. We have a neighborhood friend that has gorgeous family photos in these really big wood frames on a picture ledge in her family room. I just love the look of the overlapping frames and that inspired this sketch. Hopefully it'll inspire you too. I used patterned papers for the three "photo" panels but you could also stamp those.
As for the specifics of my card...I used this adorable bunny in the KICK SOME GRASS set. The patterned papers are from the Victoria Gardens paper pack from Echo Park. I have to admit that in creating the scalloped horizontal element I started off with a strip of paper that I split so that it felt velvety and had a nice texure. Then I paper pleated that strip. Then I got the big idea to use a scalloped edge die to cut the bottom. Guess what happened? Running the whole thing through the Big Shot smoothed the texture AND squished the pleats...so much for all of that!
I can't wait to see what you come up with this week using my sketch. Make sure that you use keyword TCPTUES170 when uploading to SCS and add your photo to the slide show on ALMA'S BLOG so that you're included in our weekly/monthly contest goings on!

Totally and utterly DELIGHTFUL Leigh! LOVE all the bling, especially on the sentiment!!!

Fabulous work. I just made some polymer clay buttons that would work with this sketch very well. Thanks for the needed inspiration.
