THE CAT'S PAJAMAS - NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP {tcp tuesday #165 - sketch}

It's finally here...TCP TUESDAY!  Not exciting enough?  Well, what I really meant was our NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP AND RELEASE DAY AND TCP TUESDAY!  Wooohoooo!  All of the fun stamps, CutUps dies, and seam binding ribbon that we've been featuring for the last week are NOW AVAILABLE!  So, to celebrate we're hopping around with even more inspiration that you haven't seen yet...

It is actually TCP TUESDAY as well.  I'm the hostess this time so the blog hop is starting here with me too.  You know my challenge...it's a sketch.  It turns out that it was a little bit difficult for the gals this time...heck, it was difficult for ME too!  I hope you'll give it a try. My card uses the brand new WHEEL LOVE set.  This little bike riding bunny is sooo cute.  There are lots of layers in this sketch so you'll have plenty of opportunity to use your dp.  I used a bunch of patterns from the October Afternoon 5 & Dime paper pad.  I also used the APRON BORDER CUTUPS die for some swirly goodness.  Cherry Divine Twine and some brads finish it all off.

SMILE! {tcp sneaky peek week - day 7}

Last day of sneaky peeks for our brand new release!  Don't worry, though, we'll have our Pajama Party on SPLITCOAST tonight with more peeks and prizes and then our NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP tomorrow morning too (starting here on my blog!).  Lots of inspiration to push you right over the egde with your wallet this time...I'm always happy to enable others like others enable me to buy, buy, BUY!

Today's SNEAKY PEEK set is KICK SOME GRASS!  Don't you just love that name?  The bunny is back and this set has such great sentiments in cool fonts too.  I went for that "scrappy" look this time - layering strips of patterned paper from the MME Stella & Rose - Gertie paper pad.  I love these pads with non-matchymatchy patterns that still all work together.  I used the BIG SCALLOP BORDER CUTUPS die on some fun blue polka-dot paper and then added green scalloped velvet ribbon, buttons, twine, fabric tape and delish new MANGO SEAM BINDING ribbon - also from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  The flower centers needed a little bling so I added tiny flower shaped rhinestones that some nice person sent me from Japan years back.

AND AWAY WE GO! {tcp sneaky peek - day 6}

More with the bunny and this time he's off and flying in his hot air balloon!  LOVE THIS ONE...I do, I do!  (And, oh my, what the girls of THE CAT'S PAJAMAS DT have created with this adorable set...you just must see!)  AWAY WE GO is today's SNEAKY PEEK set.

I found this layout on a card by KIM TEASDALE and knew that I just had to give it a try.  That balloon just screamed "color me" so I paired it up with really colorful patterned papers in the Lime Twist - Happy Go Lucky pad from My Mind's Eye.  And how perfect is that CLOUD BORDER CUTUPS die in combination with this set?  It's definitely a must-have addition to my card making repatoire since I like to create little scenes.

A LITTLE BIRD TOLD ME {tcp sneaky peek - day 5}

Hey there Saturday blog readers!  So, only a few more days to go until all of this stamping goodness will be available from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  I know you've seen SOMETHING that you like!  Well ALMA has really done it again this time....it's new, it's interesting, it's innovative...AND YOU KNOW YOU'RE GONNA WANT IT TOO!  I'm talking about today's SNEAKY PEEK set and CUTUPS die...Today, we're previewing the NESTING stamp set and the ROLLED NEST CUTUPS die!

The nesting set will really quench your thirst for all things aviary and beautiful and I'm sure that it's different than most of what you've already seen out there. (Plus, it's a great compliment to the THE TWEETEST THINGS set that was previously released.)  And then to have the die to go with is icing on the cake!  Like the rolled flowers that are all the rage, all you do is cut out the nest shape and roll it up.  On my card I cut the nest from patterned paper and added pearl eggs to it's center.  From the stamp set, I stamped the branch - overlapping it a few times - with versamark and embossed with black detail embossing powder on the yellow circle.  These gorgeous bird silhouettes and the sentiment are in the set too.  All of the patterned paper is in the Echo Park For The Record collection.  I followed along with this week's MFT sketch challenge for the layout and finished it all off with Cherry Divine Twine, a button, and some lacy scraps from my grandma's stash.

UP, UP & AWAY {tcp sneaky peek - day 4}

I'm late today but I wanted to make sure that I shared today's SNEAKY PEEK set from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS:  UP, UP & AWAY! (Available June 28th.) That rascaly (sp?) penguin is at it again.  Is he hanging from the kite or running with it?  It's whatever works for you!  Of course, this Lime Twist - Fly A Kite patterned paper from My Mind's Eye makes the perfect compliment to this adorable image. 

I found this layout from LINDA HEAVENS in a blog post in my inbox this morning.  (*ETA* - I just realized that this is actually this week's Bellarific Friday Sketch Challenge.) I really love it and it allows you to use a bunch of various patterns.  Her card had a scalloped border down the left side but I chose to use our new CLOUD BORDER CUTUPS die.  It's called a "border", afterall!  I also used some crinkled AQUA SEAM BINDING ribbon that's new from The Cat's Pajamas as well.  It's another must have!

FLUTTERING BY {tcp sneaky peek - day 3}

It's day three of sneaky peeks from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS and there are actually two sets being revealed today...FLUTTER BY and WHEEL LOVE.  You might have already gotten a peek at WHEEL LOVE from AMY ROHL'S paper pleating tutorial on Splitcoast.  I'll be back later for my take on that one.  For now, here's some butterfly action for ya!

FLUTTER BY features another of those sweet bunnies enjoying some butterfly catching.  I like to think that they're all too fast for him but he's having fun just running around with the net!  I also used three new CUTUPS dies - LACEY BUTTERFLY, CLOUD BORDER (using the negative in this case), and MINI EXOTIC BUTTERLIES - and I, of course, had to use the GRASS CUTUPS at the bottom...it just works, right?!  I cut the large butterfly from patterned paper (Echo Park) and from some great glitter paper that I bought at JoAnn's for a double layer effect.  I did add some embossed texture to the sky with a Cuttlebug large polka-dot embossing folder and some rhinestones and ribbon finish it off.

IT'S YOUR DAY! {tcp sneaky peek - day 2}

Are ya back for more?  I hope so cuz I would never in a lifetime want you to miss this one.  You might have guessed that I'm slightly partial to SUNFLOWERS....gaga over them is more like it!  A big ole sunny sunflower will brighten my day anytime.  So, when ALMA revealed this new set and a matching die I was just giddy.  I present to you my new favorite stamp set and die...BEARING FLOWERS and the SUNFLOWER ROSETTE CUTUPS die.  Aaaahhhh...it just brings me joy to even think about 'em!

I do love me some PJ and to have him with a big sunflower is icing on the cake.  I colored him up with Copics and added him to my little scene.  (I used the GRASS CUTUPS die on some delish felt for the ground here too.)  The patterned paper is from American Crafts. 

And now for the die...remember the EASY ROSETTE die from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS?  Well this is right along those same lines!  You cut two of the flower shape - accordian fold and attach - and, voila, you have a flower.  For the SUNFLOWER ROSETTE you even have a debossed center that makes it just perfect.  A little heart shaped leaf finishes it off.  And those shapes are all on one die!  In addition, you could use the flower shape flat or make it a sun...the sky's the limit.  I love it when there's more than one way to use a die, girlfriends!  I hand cut a stem and glued my leaves to some coiled wire to give them a little springy action and then added a sentiment banner as well.

TAKE OFF {tcp sneaky peek - day 1}

I am so excited today to be sharing a SNEAKY PEEK for the first of eight new stamp sets and five new CUTUPS dies from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS!  New release time is my most favorite time of the year...so fun.  Let's get to it!

Let's TAKE OFF with a new bunny drawn by Zlatina.  His fabby paper pieced polka-dot plane could not be any cuter and he's so calm and cool that he flies through the clouds with all the confidence in the world.  And speaking of clouds...our new CLOUD BORDER CUTUPS die is another MUST-HAVE!  It's actually a string of four clouds but I've separated them here into two....so great that you can use them individually or as a border.  Let's see...what else is new here?  How about gorgeous and suptuous new TCP SEAM BINDING RIBBON!  ALMA will be carrying eight new colors - I've used Olive.  (I like that crinkled look so I spritzed mine with water and allowed it to dry all crumpled in a ball.)

TCP ATC SWAP HOP!

That's a lotta letters up there in that title!  So, to spell it out, a little while back our friend Linda in the SCS (Splitcoast - more letters!) forum suggested an ATC (artist trading card) swap using TCP (The Cat's Pajamas) stamps and a bunch of us jumped at the chance.  Now that things have all been stamped, and mailed, and swapped, and mailed back we're ready to show them off!

I chose the WET PUDDLE set.  I love this little person.  There was some discussion a while back as to whether it was a boy person or a girl person and ALMA told us that her name is Audrey, I think.  I'm pretty sure that you could make her/him either gender. 

  At the time, I think I was following a Mojo Monday sketch but it's been a while and I can't remember which one.  She's all colored up with Copics and I added a bit of Crystal Effects to her yellow boots to give them some shine.  I used the FLOWER BUTTON CUTUPS die to make the sun and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder.  (ETA: I forgot to mention that I used the BIG PINKING BORDER CUTUPS on that upper edge too.)  And it's been so long that I can't even remember who makes all of the paper...I think the plaid and polka-dot are from OA, though.  Pretty straight forward.
