BEARY CHRISTMAS {sfytt}

Isn't this guy fun?!  A big ole bear...love it!  He's from a newly released set, aptly named BIG BEAR, from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  He's a really great size for coloring AND paper piecing too.  Think of all of the great cards you can create with him!

I'm following along with this week's SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY from JEN DEL MURO for this card.  In addition to an awesome new image, my card includes die cuts using Alma's terrific new CUTUPS dies, SNOWFLAKE and ICING BORDER, also from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  The design team from The Cat's PJs has been rockin' these new dies - plus two others - this release.  Make sure that you peruse the gallery when you get a chance!

For now, pop on in on the other SFYTT girls...when you're home...between holiday shopping trips.  As for me, I'm staying outta that mess for now and doing my shopping online.  Gotta love Amazon, peeps!

THE CAT'S PAJAMAS - NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP {tcptues136}

Hey there, Cat's PJs fans!  I'm baaaack!  Sort of...easing in.  BUT, today being TCP Tuesday AND new release day for THE CAT'S PAJAMAS meant that I had to get something done...and now!  JEN is this week's hostess for the supply/technique challenge:  Create an embellishment using CUTUPS dies from The Cat's Pajamas.  Won't you take up the challenge?!

In the most recent Family Circle magazine they featured some neat poinsettias created with felt and that really stuck in my mind.  I made my flower using the small scalloped pennant shape in the PENNANTS CUTUPS die set.  I rolled up some small strips of felt for the flower center and hand cut a leaf to add some green to the mix.  And who do we have here pretty-ing up the whole thing?  Well that's one of the little cuties from Alma's newest illustrator, ouou (pronounced oh you, oh you).  This set is called MERRY WISHES.  Her cute little coat and hat just screamed "plaid" so I used my Copics to give her a "burberry" look.  I inked up some strips of scalloped antique bookpage for the bottom detail too.

No Small Miracles {SFYTT} plus A Cat's Pajamas Sneaky Peek

Well, the fact that I actually created a whole card is certainly a miracle in my book...even if it IS a small one!  It only took me parts of all three weekend days to finish it BUT this is my card based on this weekend's SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY from Jen del Muro.  {see my last post for the actual sketch}

I'm featuring one of the newest images from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS called SNOWFLAKE GIRL.  How sweet is she....sooooo sweet!  I'm also showing off the new BIG SCALLOP AND SNOWFLAKE CUTUPS dies. {The BEST snowflake die out there this season if you ask me folks!}  Alma has 10 brand new stamp sets AND 4 new CUTUPS dies that are being released this coming Tuesday, November 23rd.

I'm so behind the times so I'll try and squeeze in all of the up to date info in this post.  I wouldn't want you to miss out on the NEW RELEASE PAJAMA PARTY over at SPLITCOAST and I would never want to get in the way of you getting FREE SHIPPING.  Yup...Alma's offering free shipping from 11/23 through 11/29 so that you can get your goodies all ready for Christmas.  She's smart like that!

 

 

{SFYTT}

OKay, so I did actually do a tad of stamping this week.  I know....SHOCKING!  It's not that I can't do it physically.  My surgery went great and my recovery has been miraculous to say the least.  SO, now I think it must be mental blockage.  My creativity has atrophied from disuse!  What the heck?

While I was busy not stamping I was still checking in with various blogs and the group hub for THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  There's been a big discussion on how to color hair with the Copics over there this week.  Hair coloring, and I mean in the crafty sense, is really an art.  There are many great tutorials out on the web.  Had to try it out, right?  And that's where my little itsy bit of stamping came in this week.  Lots of trial and LOTS of error but I did come up with some "hair" that I was sorta happy with.  And that made me think, "I'll get my card done for SFYTT!"  However, my little stamped girl really went better with LAST week's SFYTT sketch!  ACK!!  (The two sketches got switched while I was away and I was planning for the OTHER sketch.)  But, I'm hoping to keep working on it today and make it fit.  Maybe check back later if you get a moment.
