GOOD WITCH OR BAD? {SFYTT}

Happy Halloween, Stampers!  Hopefully you got all of your candy for the kiddies and a costume all planned out for festivities this evening.  We, AGAIN, have spooky weather here in Maryland....MORE RAIN!  I guess I shouldn't complain though...it's could be the SNOW that those in the Denver area got last week.  I am so NOT ready for any of that.

It's Saturday so it's time for JEN'S SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY.  I'm still trying to ink up all of the fun images that I bought this year from EAT CAKE GRAPHICS.  And I also turned the sketch to make a vertical card instead of horizontal this time.  Too bad I didn't actually get around to mailing any Halloween cards.  How lame is that?!  YUP....that's me.  Well, at least my family sees them here on the blog.  {Hi Family!  Happy Pumpkin Day!}

TCP TUESDAY #82 AND A LITTLE PEEK AT SOMETHING NEW...

Here's my card for this week's TCP Tuesday.  JOANNE came up with this fun color combo...it's FROSTY, right?!  {I think that means "cool" these days...at least in the teen books I've been reading lately - along the same lines as Twilight and such, ya know.}  And as a little treat, here's a little peek at perfectly FROSTY new images coming soon for the holidays from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  The skating penguins and sentiment are from the upcoming PENGUIN CHRISTMAS set.

TRICKITY TREAT CONTAINER

GOBBLE IT UP!

YOU ARE MY INSPIRATION {SFYTT}

Happy Saturday....so glad that the weekend is finally here!  Saturday means that it's time for another SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY.  I really liked this one!  It's the perfect opportunity to use some great patterned paper.  In this case, a couple of sheets from the Basic Grey Indian Summer collection...gorgeous papers with brilliant fall colors!

 

I did a little shopping yesterday at the local stores and came home with the new paper AND this adorable stamp...uh, among a "few" other things.  (It's all relative, right?!)  My main image stamp is called Ponytail Girl and is made by Judikins.  I added some bamboo and a sentiment from A Muse Artstamps.  It's all colored up with the Copics, as usual, and I added the background color with the airbrush.  I love the big ole chocolate bow to finish it off.  Hmmm...now who should I send this to?

BLOGGER'S CHALLENGE #122 - ONE LAYER CARD

This week's Blogger's Challenge was to create a card with only ONE layer of cardstock!  Sounds impossible, right?!  What's a card without ribbon, and oodles of layers, and glitter, and doodads?  But it can be done.

For my card, I created a center box using my Scor-Pal.  I also used the Scor-Pal for the cross-hatched background texture...pretty cool, that thing!  I then stamped this fun image from EAT CAKE GRAPHICS and colored it using Copics.  I masked the card edges and image and used the Copic airbrush to add some "night sky".  The sentiment is an oldie but a goodies from A Muse Artstamps.

Ready for some Turkey Day?! I love me some turkey...and all of the stuff that goes along with it!  So, why not start thinking about Thanksgiving stamping, shall we?  Just in time for the stuffin-ist holiday all year, Alma has delivered the brand new GOBBLE IT UP Clearly Swanky Stamp Set.  To celebrate, we're having a new release BLOG HOP!  If you've come here from TONI's blog then you already know the deets...leave a little comment here and then head on to JENNY GROPP'S blog as the next stop. In addition to the hop, it's TCP Tuesday #81 and this week we're in for an inspiration challenge.  TONI is the Hipster Hostess with the Mostess and she's picked this fabu photo from Pottery Barn.  Don't ya just love fall leaves and treats?  I'm always in awe of these colors in nature.

How does the photo inspire you?  Grab your CAT'S PAJAMAS stamps and show us your inspired artwork.  Remember that you now have to add the photo of your card right into the guestbook for the week at ALMA'S BLOG.  While we love your comments on our blogs each time, if you don't add the photo to the guestbook your creation will not be included in the SWANKY STAMPER contest...and we don't want THAT to happen!

I created a set of place cards featuring both of the new sets as my first project.  These gorgeous metallic patterned papers are from the Indian Summer Stack by DCWV and I combined the dp with copper metallic paper and cording from SU!  I used the Copic airbrush to add some color to the die cut circle layers and added leaves from Prima.  I'm a big proponent of the Xacto knife so I stamped the names, embossed them with black EP, and then carefully cut around the letters.  The penguins are ready to serve up some yummy goodness!

SFYTT - Poppy Andrew Angel

Ready for a new sketch?  JEN's got another great one for this week's SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY challenge.  I'm still trying to get back to normal after a week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  It was quite an adventure...to say the least.  I'll just say that the hotel was lovely and the scenery was gorgeous - would have been so much prettier without the rain though - and we swam with the dolphins which was extraordinary.  Maybe I'll get a moment to post some pix later this weekend.  But back to the sketch...

I broke out another brand new stamp...this one is called Andrew Angel and it's from the new POPPY STAMPS collection from the people who brought you MEMORY BOX stamps.  Anna Wight - the great enabler - brought these to my attention and the images are all adorable and whimsically sweet.  Of course, it's all colored up with Copics.  I did add some clouds using a piece of scallop punched cardstock and a sponge with Soft Sky ink from SU!  And I painted his little wings with Aztec Gold Twinkling H2Os for a bit of sparkle.

TCP TUESDAY #80 - Supply Challenge

The gang at THE CAT'S PAJAMAS is trying something new!  Alma's added all of these fun embellishments to her product list.  It's all so fun to use!  So, along with various featured products we'll be showcasing some techniques for you to try.  AMY ROHL will be our HIPSTER HOSTESS with the MOSTESS for these challenges.

JUST A NOTE {SFYTT}

Once again...I AM A LUCKY DUCK!  I have the honor of joining a really fun group of tremendous stampers each week as a part of JEN DEL MURO's "SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY" team.  I can't believe that there'd be anybody not familiar with Jen's sketches but just in case you don't know the details...each week Jen provides us all with a new sketch.  Use that sketch to inspire your stamped card.  It's fun...the sketch takes lots of the guess work out of card planning too...you gotta love that!  Plus, need a little push getting started?  Well take a peek at what the other SFYTT DT gals have created...that oughta get your creative juices flowin'!

What I like even more than having my layout planned for me is that I get to use ANY and EVERY thing that strikes my fancy...no limitations!  That means that so many of my never-before-inked stamps will get their turn on the work table.  {And you know that can only mean the purchase of more stamps!  Gotta keep things current, right?!}  So, my card this week features some owls from MEMORY BOX.  I've got a thing for owl stamps.  {Kind of like my thing for robot stamps.  Eeep!}  But I never end up getting to ink 'em up.  Anyway, here are two of the oodles that MB has to offer.  I also used one of their branch stamps.  The little sentiment is from Anna Wight's Sweet Expressions set from Whipper Snapper.  All is colored up with the Copics and I added a little airbrush to the oval while it was still in the Nestabilities die.  These scrumptious patterned papers are all from the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird collection.  Look...I even dug out - AND I DO MEAN DUG OUT - some Prima flowers...haven't used those in ages even though I have tonnage of them.
