TWO MORE FROM S2G

And a few more cards today to show you from SHIRLEY'S 2 GIRLS.  If you haven't yet gone to the S2G website to take a peek, you just must do that.  There are some really cute images and definitely some sayings with attitude that you won't want to miss.  These girls are just starting out so there is so much more excitement to come...new images are really right around the corner too.  Plus, the girls are putting together some challenges and such to keep things fun and interesting.

ONCE IS ENOUGH GLAMOUR GIRL

This image is called ONCE IS ENOUGH and this lady definitely has some hoity-toity attitude.  She's just tres, tres chic!  I thought it would be neat to see what she looked like in black and cream.  I could only wish that I looked this glam.  The color scheme was inspired by a few pieces of gorgeous patterned paper by Bo Bunny.  I only ended up using one but they all inspired me.  I also was influenced by a recent Carole Burrage card where she used the oval nestabilities as a base for a cut out stamped image.  I added the little ribbon treatment and pearl brad to dress it up a bit.  I really like how it all adds to the glamour of the image!

TEAL PLAID COUCH

What better place for a doggie nap than a teal plaid couch.  I'm thinkin' that this thing would not have a place in my decor but what the heck.  It's a good place for the dog, right?!

CAT'S PAJAMAS NEW RELEASES

Like I mentioned the other day, tomorrow is the big day for new releases from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS!  I wanted to show you a few more cards to whet your whistle....so here goes....This set is called HEARTS AND FLOWERS.

BITTY BEE GIRL   
Buzz buzz...isn't this little bee girl just dah-ling?  I love the little scene created by the outline of the stamp image and, of course, my flower had to be a sunflower.  I ran down to Michael's for that little Martha Stewart fence punch that everyone was using around Halloween.  I think it finishes off this little peek into the garden perfectly.

YOU'RE HOT
Anyone for a little dragon breath?  This is a parade of cute little fire breathers.  When I was at Michael's I noticed some new EK Success border punches and I've used one of those here.  They work great and they fold down and latch so they don't take up so much room.  You should definitely check 'em out.

 

HEY HONEY!
And here's the little bee girl again.  I love how this card turned out.  It's very "girlie girl" and dainty looking to me.  The patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Honey Pie pad.  That pad features lots of little cross-stitch looking designs....very nostalgic!  This card uses four stamps from this one set - the bee girl, the monkey, the snail, and the sentiment.  I love how their thin line borders unite the images.  I have to say that the little monkey is my fave!

SUINK - NEW RELEASE SNEAK PEEK - MARCH

It's that time again!  More new releases from STORAGE UNITS, INK & MORE!  With Spring and warm weather right around the corner, Denise & Bob are releasing two new stamp sets - LET'S PLAY and YOU'RE SOME BUNNY SPECIAL!  These are so fun and you'll definitely need to get both.  They'll surely put you in the mood for outdoor time.  If you're like me you're ready for some sun and fun.

My card uses the LET'S PLAY set and these jump-roping cuties.  I love creating a bunch of kids and making them look slightly different from each other.  This is perfect since our kids are doing "Jump Rope For Heart" at school tomorrow.  My gals are practicing for the big day!

TCP TUESDAY #47 - Sketch Challenge

SO...what a week it HAS been!  You know how those little kids in elementary school like to really share and spread around those germs, right?  Well the little boy comes down with strep last week and he's out for three of the four days they actually had school.  And, I think, in taking him to the pediatrician and sitting in the "sick" area, I came down with what I think was the flu.  I'm not normally a sickly girl so being sick really, really just sucks!  Thankfully, at least I'm up and around now.  The flu-like symptoms are about done and now I just have a head cold.  Can you believe it?!  Positive thinking is the trick...I WILL NOT BE SICK ANY LONGER!!!  Repeat...

Anyway, I haven't been up to stamping in so long I feel like I've forgotten how to get things accomplished.  Good thing Carole Burrage picked up the baton and took over for me with this week's TCP Tuesday Sketch Challenge.  It's a neat one too!  You can post the link to your creation over on Carole's blog.  Don't forget to use tag/keyword TCPTUES47 when you post to Splitcoast or PCP.

I turned the sketch 90 degrees and positioned the oval horizontally at the top left.  Isn't this little elephant the cutest?!!!  Alma, and her illustrators, have been busy at THE CAT'S PAJAMAS getting ready with NEW RELEASES.  There are three brand new sets that will be available this coming Friday, February 27th.  They're all "must-see", as usual.  The design team is previewing images right now so be sure to click on their names in my left-hand column to be taken to their blogs.

S2G - GREEN CHALLENGE

The girls at SHIRLEY'S 2 GIRLS have thrown out a challenge...I know, I'm a bit late in posting this and there are just a few days left.  But, YOU can do it!  To follow are the details:

GREEN CHALLENGE
Kermit says...'It's not easy being GREEN'...but we know better...so for the 1st challenge from the sisters at S2G, we want you to embrace...
Being GREEN.

We are supplying you with a template for a small button box...
7 1/2"w x 8"h (right click and save to desk top or print out)
All you have to do is come up with an idea that embraces...GREEN.
GREEN can be anything from the environment, to the color,
to St. Paddy's Day, to the renewing and rebirth that Spring brings us.
This small box could hold, candy, seeds, mini-hearts, shamrocks,
a special gift card,or even money (our favorite shade of GREEN...lol).
We want you to dig deep and use your imagination to come up with
something really unique and GREEN.

Naturally, we would love you to use our stamps, but because we are so new,
and not everyone has had a chance to buy one of our stamps...you can use any
stamp you already have.

TCP TUESDAY #46 - STAMP CHALLENGE

Today's TCP Tuesday challenge is to create a card using any cupcake image...preferably something from The Cat's Pajamas but any cupcake will do.  Karrie Baker is this week's Hipster Hostess with the Mostess so you'll be posting your card links over on her blog.  I haven't posted the details in a while so here they are for anyone new to the TCP challenges:

1. Each a week one of the The Cat’s Pajamas DT Members will host a challenge.
2. The challenges will vary {stamp, color, theme/inspiration, sketch, etc.}
3. You will have until {this} Saturday night to complete the challenge.
4. Link your project on this week’s hostess’ challenge announcement. This week you will link your project on THIS POST at Karrie's blog. 
5. TCP stamps are not required, but of course, highly encouraged. {Unless it is a challenge calling for a specific stamp}
6. There will be one winner each month. They will be deemed that month’s Swankiest Stamper and get $25 in Cat’s Cash {money to spend on the TCP site!}.
7. When uploading to SCS, please use the keyword TCPTUES46 for this challenge.
8. Alma will post the entries from the week the following Monday on her blog.

My card uses this fun image of the little penguin holding up a gigantic cupcake from the SMELLS LIKE CAKE set.  With a little masking I stamped him and not his penguin friends lighting the big birthday candle.  This bright paper is from American Crafts, the textured papers are by Coredinations, and the white is by Papertrey.  I included some Creative Imaginations buttons and bit of Tiara Stickles for the confetti.  Yum Yum!

WHAT'S NEW AT S2G?

I'm slowly working through my "to-do" list...yea!  I finally had time to play with some new stamps from SHIRLEY'S 2 GIRLS.  I love these images and they're just perfect for coloring.  S2G is a brand new stamp company but they've already got so many great stamps to offer.  Click over and check them out soon and get in on the fun!

HERE I AM!

Here's Gracie with her bouquet of big flowers.  The stamp (Gracie with Balloons) actually has balloons but I decided to use these little Prima flowers that I've had forever.  Thery're just one more thing that I've been hoarding, don'tcha know!  Gracie comes with a sentiment that says, "Here I am!  Now what were your other 2 wishes?"  Cute, huh?  I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie patterned papers for my color inspiration.  All of the textured cardstock is by Coredinations and, as always, I stamped my images onto Papertrey Select White and colored with Copics.  A couple of Stamping Bella Baubles and some paper piercing finish it off.

GOOD PLACE FOR A NAP

I'm a big nap proponent.  There's nothin' wrong with a nap each day in my book...any time, any place...works for me.  That's how this doggie is feeling too!  This stamp is aptly titled Dog In Chair - if the shoe fits, right?  These gorgeous Scenic Route patterned papers gave me my color combo - the green textured paper is called Crab Grass from Coredinations and the Tangerine is by SU!  The Kraft paper card base allows the main image and the brighter colors to take center stage.  I used the SU! scalloped edge punch to create my photo corners and topped them with some great orange buttons.  Nighty-night, doggie.

ONCE IS ENOUGH   

How chic is this gal?!  She's definitely living the high life.  She's got the fancy coat and hat to go with her pearl necklace and earrings.  (She's called Once Is Enough.)  I used some Ranger Liquid Pearls on her jewelry for shine and ran my banner strip through the Cuttlebug to give it some texture.  The fun striped paper is by Memory Box.  The Stamping Bella Baubles on the left help to balance out the big ole button on the right of my layout.  I'm really diggin' the buttons these days! 

ELI & FROGGER

This is my favorite of my recent WHIPPER SNAPPER DESIGNS cards.  I love everything about it...if I do say so myself.  ELI & FROGGER as so, so sweet.  I was big into frogs back in my tomboy days.  I still have a small ceramic frog in the garden by the front door.  I have to stop and talk to any frog that crosses my path.  I don't really try to pick them up anymore....they pee, don'tcha know?!'

But back to the card.  These oh-so-delish patterned papers are by October Afternoon.  Aren't they scrumptious?  They have a country, quilted feel to them that I love.  I created the sky panel and then added the "hills" from the green gingham side of the paper.  I sponged the edges slightly with chalk ink to separate them from the background.  I'm really into buttons right now...I think they're THE new trend.  I'm probably the last to know...but at least I got there, right?  I added a few little cross-stitches to the Kraft paper layer for interest and some fun SU! striped ribbon too.  Be sure to check out ELI & FROGGER for yourselves...you can find them >>HERE<<.

HEY BABIES!

Spring is right around the corner!  Why do we seem to associate Spring with babies?  I mean, I do understand about the animal babies but are more human babies born in the spring?  Hmmm...something to ponder, I guess.

THESE babies are more new Spring images from WHIPPER SNAPPER DESIGNS. 

My "Hey Baby!" card really grew out of my need to use this lovely baby paper by Karen Foster.  I loved all of the soft colors and cute animal images.  You know how your cards sometimes just evolve by themselves until they're nothing like you thought they'd be?  This was one of those.  I chose these kooky colors - and they aren't really colors that I would normally turn to...except for the mustard.  And they sorta don't go together even.  They ARE in the paper though.  Oh well...I still like it.  The baby stamp just makes it!  He's JAYDEN - click >>HERE<< for him.  I'm in love with that scalloped velvet trim too.  It's one of those treasures that I hoard.  But I only used a teeny piece here.  ACK!  What happens when it's all gone!  (okay...done with the tiny freak out...for the moment...ha!)

One of my husband's employees recently had their first little one...baby Molly.  This card is for her.  I kept it bright and cheery and girly without being frilly.  This baby is BELLA....click >>HERE<< for her.  These fun girl patterned papers are by My Mind's Eye.

I'M NUTS ABOUT YOU!

Could you even begin to resist this cute little squirrel on top of his nut pile?  He's one of the new Spring images from WHIPPER SNAPPER DESIGNS.  He's called NUTTY SQUIRREL and you can find him by clicking >>HERE<<.  The matchy sentiment is new as well and it's called...ah, duh..."I'm Nuts About You!"  You can find that one >>HERE<<.
