I have been dying to try one of Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketches. Julee is a guest designer for The Cat's Pajamas and has her own stamp company. She has an amazing artistic sense for layout and card design. I'm always in awe of what she comes up with.
This sketch was so much harder than I expected it to be. It has so many different elements in it's design. I decided to flip the sketch and put the four small images on the left instead of the right. For me, this allowed the eye to flow to the sentiment last and then to the card opening. Believe me when I say that I have NOT memorized all of those design rules (Rule of Thirds, Z formation to lead the eye, etc.) but I do know what is pleasing to my eye and in this case that meant a sketch flip.
Almost all of these stamps are in the Havin' A Pow Wow Clearly Swanky set (S-7511) from The Cat's Pajamas. (The "are you" part of the sentiment are from a stamp by Savvy. The full stamp actually says, "olive you are invited".) This fun patterned paper is from the Mellow collection by Basic Grey. Again, the images are colored with Prismacolor Markers. I then sponged the edges with my fave combo of the moment - Ranger Mushroom Adirondack ink, Ranger Walnut Distress ink, and then Ranger Butterscotch Adirondack ink. It's the perfect amount of 'aging' for me. I also added some Crystal Effects to the water portion of the stamped image to add a little interest.
The size of this card turned out to be 6.5" x 6"...not sure if I'll ever find an envelope that big! (yea...like I was actually gonna USE the card anyway...we all know that I'm the biggest HOARDER on earth!)

Leigh, this fabulous card looks more like an illustration! Your work always impresses me. Will you come to my house and use my prismacolors? ;)
