THE VALENTINE'S FAIRY {eat cake graphics}

I'm a bit of bah humbug on Valentine's this year but that can't stop me from liking a cute little Valentine's Fairy!  This adorable little one is called LITTLE SYLVIE and she's from EAT CAKE GRAPHICS.  I also stamped the BOX OF FAIRY DUST and TALL SCROLLIES to complete the scene.  I added a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds for fairy dust along with tiny hearts from the QUEEN OF HEARTS BORDER CUTUPS die from TCP.  I used part of that same border die down the right side and a big scalloped heart die from the HEARTS TRIO CUTUPS die - also from TCP.  All of the patterned papers are in the Yours Truly 6x6 pad from Echo Park.  Black organdy ribbon, a button, and Licorice Divine Twine finish it off.

TCP TUESDAY #195 - Sketch Challenge

Hello!  Have all of the stampers headed to CHA in California this week?  Anybody out there?  Bueller? Well, I'll just pretend that there's somebody there and jump right in!  It's a Tuesday and that means time for a new challenge from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  This week it's my turn again so here's your sketch challenge...

This one was based on one of my cards for the last new release.  You can check that one out HERE.  I just love a little flag banner!  This card features the lastest ouou image from the WARM FUZZIES set.  I said it before but I'll say it again...I love these little gals.  For this one I paper pieced her outfit with patterned papers in the Kraft Funday Happy Days paper pad from MME.  It's all printed on Kraft and I love me some Kraft paper!  I also stamped her onto cream cardstock so that I could color her skin and hair with Copics.  I really like how she "pops" off the card.  I used a new embossing folder from Craft Concepts for the background.  It's called Jo's Circles - fun and funky.  Right behind the girl I stamped the bingo card from the BUILD-A-BINGO set on to the circle layer.  I also added a piece of the APRON BORDER CUTUPS die-cut on top of each banner for some curly details.

TCP TUESDAY #194 - Stamp/CutUps Challenge

I could not resist creating one of LORI TECLER'S K-CUP CADDYs - it's this month's Project of the Month on THE CAT'S PAJAMAS website.  It's such an adorable project and so easy to boot.  You'll find all of the instructions AND a printable template on the site.

I created my version with this week's TCP TUESDAY challenge from SUSAN in mind - Make something using HEARTS...both the Cat's PJs stamped version AND/OR perhaps a CutUps die or two!  I started off with this adorable paper from the Love Me pad from MME and went from there.  The cute little cupid bunny from FEELIN' CUPIDY fit the bill perfectly.  I also used the oval die from the CIRCUS PANELS CUTUPS for the handle as specified in the plans.  I added parts of the new QUEEN OF HEARTS BORDER CUTUPS to make the little flag banner and a smidge of the scallopy part of that same die on my hanging sentiment dangle.  And speaking of the dangle, that's made using the middle sized panel in the CIRCUS PANELS CUTUPS die.  I love springy wire and just happened to have PINK that went with my theme.  The little bunny has a tiny wooden clothespin glued to the back so that he really could perch anywhere on the caddy. Oh, and the tiny felt hearts are cut from the HEART ROSETTE CUTUPS die.

CRUMBS & FARLEY {eat cake graphics}

I am so excited to announce that I have joined the design team for EAT CAKE GRAPHICS.  I have been a big fan of HOLLY'S fun and quirky stamps for years! I mean, how could anyone resist a sentiment like "It's important to keep an open mind. But not so open that your brains fall out."  Ha!  I love that!

In addition to whimsical and silly stamps, Holly creates quilts and quilt patterns that feature her cast of characters.  I'm thinkin' that I might want to be Holly when I grow up.  (A girl can hope, right?)  Take some time to visit the EAT CAKE GRAPHICS website and the ECG BLOG.  While you're on the computer, make sure to stop by the Facebook page and "LIKE" ECG too.

I have a few cards here on the blog that feature Holly's stamps.  (Find them by clicking on the Eat Cake Graphics category link on my right sidebar.)  For today I'm sharing a card that I created for my friend Theresa's birthday yesterday.  How sweet are CRUMBS & FARLEY?!  I do love the kitty!  All of the patterned papers here are in the Carolina Breeze pad from Teresa Collins.  Houndstooth ribbon and buttons and twine finish it off.

TCP TUESDAY #193 - COLOR CHALLENGE

This week LORI challenged us to use PINK, MELON, and BROWN for our TCP TUESDAY card or project.  What did I learn from this experience?  I'm not good with PINK!!!  So I've got more brown goin' on here...

On top of the challenge, AMY tells us that today is NATIONAL PENGUIN DAY or something like that. I think she's makin' that up but I went with it anyway.  Who wouldn't want a cute little penguin Valentine?!  I used the new LOVE STINKS set and a sentiment from the new GIMME SOME SUGAR set.  I also cut the HEART ROSETTE CUTUPS from a piece of book page.  I used the EGGS IN A BASKET CUTUPS die with some raffia so that the penguin has a place to sit and store up some love eggs and I also used the HEART TRIO CUTUPS for some lovey dovey-ness.  Martha Stewart ribbon, lace trim, and a big MM brad finish it up.

THE CAT'S PAJAMAS - NEW RELEASE BLOG HOP {tcp tuesday #192 - TECHNIQUE}

My project for today is a set of Easter tags using the BUILD-A-BINGO set along with the EGGS IN A BASKET CUTUPS die.  They're sort of vintage-y and scrappy, don't ya think?  All of the patterned papers are from October Afternoon.  I also used the GRASS BORDER CUTUPS die for the Easter grass and the CIRCUS PANELS CUTUPS die set for the sentiment which is from the new SUGAR SUGAR set.  The seam binding ribbon is also a CAT'S PJS item.

Let me point your attention to the basket...especially since our TCP challenge this week is to EMBOSS - either with embossing powder or dry embossing.  I cheated a tad and used this new die to fit the challenge.  Not only does it cut the basket and a cute little egg...it embosses too!  So fun and versatile.

BUILD-A-BINGO...{tcp sneaky peek - day 7}

Today is the last day for SNEAKY PEEKS for the brand new Winter 2012 New Release from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS! 

This last set is near and dear to my heart!  I am in love with all of the Bingo cards that have shown up in cards and paper crafts this past year.  (Amy Rohl is seriously the QUEEN of BINGO CARDS!) I love that they make the perfect background for many occasions and I love the vintage look and feel of them.  Well, in sharing ideas for new sets with Alma, the idea for a customizable Bingo card was thrown about.  Alma paired up the perfect vintage font with various numbers and symbols so that you can create Bingo cards to fit every situation.  The BUILD-A-BINGO stamp set was born!

For my card, I created two Lovey Bingo cards and teamed them up with the FEELIN' CUPIDY bunny.  I filled in the open center square with a heart to fit my theme.  The patterned papers are in the Times & Seasons pad from Echo Park.  (In addition to bingo cards, I'm totally enthralled with these fun mustaches!)  I trimmed out a tiny mustache for Bunny to wear.  Hey, he's incognito! 

I also used the HEART ROSETTE CUTUPS die to create a pretty background for Bunny to fly across.  Organdy ribbon, twine, and a button finish it all up!

LOVE STINKS...{tcp sneaky peek - day 6}

I'm popping in here late in the day to give you a peek at another new set from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS.  This one is called LOVE STINKS.  And, long story short, love does sorta stink for me these days but I have hope and I still believe in love.  Penguin love, on the other hand, not so sure about that but I do have to believe that it might be a little stinky down there in Antarctica!  But these are the cute lovey variety penguins.

I used the new HEART ROSETTE CUTUPS die on some old pattern tissue for the background and then I used pieces of the new QUEEN OF HEARTS BORDER at the tops of my pennant banner.  They ARE stinkin' cute!  All of the patterned paper is in the Stella & Rose - Mabel pad from MME.  The aqua felt heart is cut from the HEART TRIO CUTUPS die and the tiny red felt hearts are from the HEART ROSETTE CUTUPS.

BUNNY SIDE UP...{tcp sneaky peek - day 5}

Only a few more days of fabulous sneaky peeks and then all of the new stamps and dies will be ready for ordering at THE CAT'S PAJAMAS!  Today's set is called BUNNY SIDE UP.  (Aren't these names so funny?!)  Our big eared bunny has found his way into a giant Easter egg.  I'm using JEN DEL MURO'S JANUARY SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY for my layout today.  I wanted to go bright and cheery so I pulled out the Snow Day Collection paper pad from Crate Paper.  I used Alma's new QUEEN OF HEARTS BORDER CUTUPS die to add some fancy cut and pierced borders to the central horizontal and some bright aqua ribbon from PTI for that color pop.  A Prima flower in Bunny's little paws finish it off.

WARM FUZZIES...{tcp sneaky peek - day 4}

Hello Stampers!  It's day four of Sneaky Peeks from THE CAT'S PAJAMAS and today's set is called WARM FUZZIES.  This is another illustrated set in the ouou line.  I really love these cute little people with the bold solid outlines.  Makes it way easy to paper piece and to color as well.  Plus, I can't resist the little birdies!  I paper pieced this little gal with varous patterns in the October Afternoon Farmhouse pad.  They're soooo pretty...I almost had a hard time cutting into them at all.  I love the dove gray, saffron yellow, and cream color combo.  Oooh, and check out Alma's new LACY FLORAL DOILY CUTUPS DIE shape!  It's awesome AND all of the little flowers that are cut from the doily can also be used.  See - instead of little bits and pieces of nothingness, Alma's come up with a double whammy die!  I added one of the little flowers to her hair with a brad in the center.  She's a cutie!
